Sky Pix Thailand : Equipment

What is a Blimp/Zeppelin?
A nine  foot long helium filled balloon that can lift camera equipment, RC hardware and servos up to 500 feet AGL. The blimp is tethered to the ground where you will be able to collaborate  directly with our ground-based technician and choose the pictures you want.

General Applications for Aerial Photography with a Blimp;

-low altitude, vertical or diagonal photography up to 0-500 feet AGL.
-Excellent opportunity to photograph over residential/populated areas that are typically restricted from air traffic.
-A quite and static system means no disturbing noise for wildlife or the environment.

Common uses:

--Construction progress reports
--Site surveys
--Real Estate Development
--Civil Engineering projects
--Agriculture
--Geology
--Archeology
--Urban environments
--Low altitude panoramic views
--Golf Courses

What is a Paramotor?
The paramotor, powered paraglider (PPG), is essentially a small aircraft engine (usually two stroke) attached to a specially designed harness allowing a paraglider to take off and fly in areas that would otherwise be impossible to view. With a gas fueled engine weighing between 15 and 30 kilos depending on the model, and less than fifty meters of running space a paramotor  pilot can safely launch and maintain any desired altitude up to approximately 2000 meters AGL for up to two hours. Weather permitting, large distances can be covered at very slow speeds.

The research and technology that is constantly being applied to paramotoring has made this form of flight extremely accessible and safe for the general public.

Sky Pix Thailand uses a Fly Products Kompress for most of the aerial photography and video projects. The Corsair engine has proven to be extremely rugged and dependable motor which can be used in solo and/or tandem flights.

Our pilots and paramotors are internationally certified using the latest equipment the paramotor industry has to offer.
You can discuss what areas you would like photographed and the pilot will fly solo and return with a selection of pictures for you to choose.

General Applications for Aerial Photography with a Paramotor

-Exploratory photography over areas inaccessible by car
-High Altitude Photography up to 2000 meters AGL
-Aerial mapping using GPS and stitching imagery.
-Environmental photography

Common uses:
--mapping for large sites; archeological, Golf Course Development.
--Environmental surveys spanning large areas
--Geological research
--Resorts
--Coast lines
--Establishing GPS waypoints
--High Altitude panoramic views

As in all forms of aerial photography, a clear sky is essential and the decision to launch is based on the weather. Tethered blimps are subject to the same flying restrictions as are large kites or other tethered
platforms - 500 feet (150 m) maximum height is permitted without submitting a flight plan to the local airport. This height maximum is well within the range needed for small-format aerial photography. Blimp aerial photography is usually conducted between 100 m and 150 m above the ground.
